By accepting your situation and wanting to be there…

By accepting where you are, temporarily, as a starting position, and wanting to be there, you gain the ability to look at what you are doing to create the holding on to things and fighting things off that make you suffer. When you have understood the suffering and seen how you are creating the mental actions that make you suffer, (My current theory is that) you just become dispassionate towards the clinging/aversion and it ceases.
